Wage Top Ups for Employers

Derwentside Employment Team bid for funding last year to support Employers in and around Derwentside with recruitment and wage costs. The funding was approved and awarded to us in January 2009 and we are already providing financial support to local Employers.

We obviously recognise that in the current climate Employers need more practical help than ever before and with more redundancies expected in the near future we anticipate that our caseloads of work ready candidates will increase.

Derwentside Employment Team are offering a financial incentive to Employers recruiting Derwentside residents.

If an Employer wishes to recruit someone into their company from our caseload of over 500, we could offer an amount of up to £2,000 and/or access other financial incentives (subject to eligibility criteria).

The breakdown of how this would work is as follows;

  • If an Employer were to offer a candidate over 30 hours work per week we would pay £75 per week for 26 weeks towards wage costs.

  • If an Employer were to offer a candidate 16-30 hours work per week we would pay £50 per week for 26 weeks towards.

The process is really simple, paperwork is minimal, and we could offer you as much or as little support as you require in the recruitment of new staff.
